Desert Dichotomy
© 2001
There was a beautiful spring bloom in the Sonoran desert and I was seeking to capture some broad views of the vast fields of flowers. But I was attracted to this lone barrel cactus in a field of yellow poppies set aglow by the golden morning light. I lay down on my stomach for this perspective and used the foreground rock and owl clover as a natural frame for this composition.
