Light streaming through the windows and vines growing in this ancient bath house in Italy seemed to bring an otherwise dark and dank room to life. And also rendering it extremely difficult to capture. Both an artistic and technical challenge- I waited for my eyes to adjust to the dim light to figure out how to depict the feel of this room. Patience, composition, and exposure were the keys to bringing out the sense of current and past life in this calidarium.
